Position Overview
A well-known energy services company in Qatar is looking for a skilled Project Engineer – Completions to join their growing team. In this role, you’ll be working on gas production wells that use large-sized equipment (7 inches or more in diameter).

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review technical designs for completion systems, including Packers, Safety Valves, and specialized service tools.
- Support the deployment of completions using slick-line, braided line, coiled tubing, and traditional work strings.
- Supervise ongoing field operations, providing real-time technical troubleshooting and support.
- Draft and maintain comprehensive operational procedures for completions jobs.
- Run simulations and engineering calculations, such as torque & drag analysis, tubing movement, and hydraulics.
- Act as the technical liaison between company and client, ensuring tool selection, installation methods, and best practices are applied.
- Participate in design reviews and assist in the pre-job qualification and planning of downhole systems.
- Ensure compliance with QMS, ISO 9001, and ISO TS 29001 quality standards across all stages.
- Contribute to operational efficiency through risk assessments, safety strategies, and incident prevention measures.
- Oversee QA/QC activities and verify equipment inspections meet project and company specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of job planning, execution summaries, and post-job evaluations.
- Remain available on a 24/7 on-call basis for urgent technical support during field activities.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong background in Completion Tool Design (Packers, Safety Valves, Ball Valves, etc.)
- Practical knowledge of gas well completion engineering, particularly ≥7″ diameter wells.
- Expertise in various deployment methods including slick-line and coiled tubing.
- Familiar with design software like WellPlan and WellCAT (preferred).
- Proficient in maintaining equipment inventory, action plans, and operations updates.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Competency in risk assessment, safety procedures, and field troubleshooting.
- Familiar with QA/QC processes and inspection standards.
- Fluent in English – written and spoken.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in liner hanger and completions operations.
- At least 3 years of hands-on technical support experience in large-diameter gas well completions.
- Engineering degree preferred (Mechanical, Petroleum, or related).
- Qualified according to company’s internal competency framework.
- Proven experience with ISO 9001 and ISO TS 29001 standards.
- Willingness and availability to provide 24/7 operational support when required.
